The Boardwalk is bustling in warmer months with people of all ages enjoying carnival rides and games along the midway. For those living in Margate City, a peaceful day sailing the sparkling waters or relaxing on any of the sandy-white beaches can easily be followed by an exhilarating night on the town filled with dinner, dancing, gambling and even a Broadway show. While Margate City is predominately a residential community, several nearby cities offer an array of employment opportunities. Northfield, Linwood, Pleasantville, Atlantic City and Absecon are all within seven miles of the city’s center, making commute times simple for the worker on the go. Similarly, when it comes to quality education, there are three public schools within city limits, all featuring small class sizes instructed by experienced educators. Students ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade attend the Margate City Schools while students in grades 9-12 join students from the neighboring cities of Brigantine, Longport and Ventnor city in attending Atlantic City High School. Margate City’s Union Avenue Elementary accepts students in grades K-2. William H. Ross III Intermediate is home to students in grades 3-5. For students in grades 6-8, the newly renovated Eugene A. Tighe Middle School is the primary public institution. Margate City prides itself on its smallness. Still, the city is not at all short on amenities. The self-sufficient city is a home away from home for many while for others, serves as the ultimate paradise in which to lead a life well lived. |
